Hello, I’m so glad you’re here!
My name is Stacy Brackins and I am the owner and one of the photographers of Moments to Remember Photography (Mtr). Over 24 years ago this business was started by the invitation to photograph a friend’s wedding. I was working as a nurse at the time and never considered photography as a career option and other than scrapbooking my families memories; I really wasn’t involved in any of the arts. After much consideration (and a lot of hesitation), I did decide to photograph that wedding!
Only God knew at that moment my entire future was going to look so different. I can’t say that event went flawlessly because my goodness I made some massive mistakes, but in spite of my inexperience, I survived that wedding, and delivered photos that thrilled the bride and groom! Within just a couple weeks of that life-changing day I had multiple brides calling, asking me to photograph their special days. I remember telling my husband that I had decided to quit my career in nursing and open a photography studio. To say everybody was shocked is an understatement; but it was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life!
This is a good spot to talk about my husband, Dana, Brackins. We met in the summer of 1996 and married that same fall! Looking back, I guess you could say I’m a little impulsive, and thankfully have been blessed and protected by my Heavenly Father. Dana has always been by my side supporting me and my wild ideas. It is amazing that what started as a passion for me has turned into a passion for us. We’ve been married for almost 30 years and believe that marriage is one of the greatest gifts ever given. Together, we want to Serve our community, encourage the love between husband and wife and protect the covenant of marriage. We have a lot of plans and continue to dream of how we can make that possible through the melody by Mtr.
Wedding photography was my beginning and five years ago I decided to stop photographing weddings off our property and create a space where couples could come be loved and served in the area of hospitality; get hitched and have incredible photographs to forever remember their day. Our staff still photographs many weddings offsite, in fact, our photography studio is now over 24 years old and we are a full service studio. Without the commitment and hard work of my staff Mtr would not be what it is…and I’m so thankful for their talents and serving our clients in this way. I’m also thankful that because of each one of them I’m allowed the opportunity to pursue my dream of operating a wedding venue.
The name… “
The Melody by MTR” came about in honor of my late mother-in-law, Melody Brackins. My husband’s parents gave us this property many years ago and said it was our early inheritance that they were giving us so they could enjoy watching us grow our family and live our dreams here. During the time we started this adventure, Melody was diagnosed with lung cancer that was inoperable. That was such an emotional time for all of us. We experienced miracles that allowed for extra time with her. we were able to take her on her dream vacation of gold mining… Fun fact about that gem of a woman is that she had a love for jewelry of all kinds, especially gold! My heart is so full knowing that she was alive when we were able to honor her by giving this venue her name, it seemed so perfect! Not only is it her name but one of the meanings of the word Melody is: the principal part in harmonized (
via Google Search) music, which fit beautifully for a wedding venue! When we first launched this business, we had the pleasure of doing a mock wedding and full photo shoot with her and her long time fiancé of over 20 years to use as marketing photographs. I am so thankful for that day and opportunity because we now have those precious pictures of her to cherish.
We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking time to visit our website, to inquire about our services, to meet with us and see our space and especially for trusting us in what will be one of the most important days of your lives!
With much love,
Stacy Brackins❤️
